Casa P12 by Martín Dulanto Architect:

“This project requires component of a individual exploration where distinct blocks and the vacuum generated among them are the protagonists.

The volume was proposed as a large white box that has been excavated and inside which seem different “buckets” with numerous supplies (wood, exposed concrete, and so forth.).

These “cubes” seem, along the complete project, at distinct scales: from the main cube, white and container of the whole project, to medium sized cubes as the wood (kitchen), exposed concrete (primary bedroom), and painted yellow (guest bathroom), reaching smaller sized cubes , as some furnishings.

The social location of the first level was turned with a dual objective: To guide the social area to the park in front of the residence, but also to the boardwalk and the beach. And to break the continuity of the orthogonal walls of nearby homes, producing a specific perspective from the road to the park.

The project has the following environments:

  • 1. Level One: Master bedroom (with stroll in closet and bathroom), main room, secondary living space, guest bathroom, kitchen, laundry, clothing lines.

  • 2. Basement: 3 bedrooms(with bathroom), with capacity for 4 persons each and every, living space, courtyard with reflecting pool, area service, bathroom service.

  • 3. Terrace: 2 rooms, dining room, bbq area, deck, pool.”

M-22 Home by Michael Fitzhugh Architect:

“This modern residence sits along the top of a tall ridge overlooking West Grand Traverse Bay in Northern Michigan. The design of the home recreates the sense of discovery felt while ascending the back of the ridge to the views revealed after at the prime.

The materials and spaces had been inspired by the components water, wind, earth and fire. From every single space the materials, light and a strong connection to the internet site is felt.

The residence also boasts an innovative geothermal heating and cooling systems along with its own hydroelectric power generator which makes use of rainwater, geothermal water and gravity to create power for the residence. A mix of concrete, steel, composite siding and big glass openings complement the clean form of the house’s exterior.

This is a really distinctive structure and is a model for future sustainable design and style and building methods.”
